There will be a General Meeting of all Branch Members on Thursday April 17th at 7pm.

Members must be up to date on their membership to attend.

All members are invited to attend.

1/ Only legion members in good standing (2025 membership paid) are allowed to attend meetings.

2/ If you have not paid your 2025 dues, please go online at Legion.ca

to register and make your payment as soon as possible. It will give an option to obtain an electronic membership card, which can be downloaded to your smartphone.

3/ If you have already paid, but have not received your electronic card, or 2024 sticker, Membership will have a list for confirmation, and stickers.

Annual Election Notice

The Russell Royal Canadian Legion is preparing for our annual election, and we encourage all members to participate. Below is a list of available positions for nomination along with their responsibilities:

Available Positions:

President – Provides leadership and oversees all Legion operations.

Vice Presidents (3 Positions) – Support the President and assist in managing Legion activities.

Service Officer – Assists veterans and their families in accessing services and support.

Sergeant at Arms – Maintains order at meetings and events; responsible for ceremonial duties.

Ways and Means Officer – Organizes fundraising initiatives and financial planning.

Youth and Education Officer – Promotes youth programs and scholarships within the community.

Entertainment Officer – Plans and coordinates social events for the Legion.

Bar Chair – Manages bar operations, including inventory and staff coordination.

Secretary – Records meeting minutes, handles correspondence, and maintains records.

Treasurer – Oversees Legion finances, including budgets and financial reporting.

Poppy Chair – Organizes the annual Poppy Campaign and related fundraising efforts.

Property Management Officer – Oversees the maintenance and upkeep of Legion facilities.

Sports Officer – Organizes sports leagues and recreational activities for members.

Honours and Awards - Ensures that members are recognized for their contribution.

We invite all interested members to step forward and consider taking an active role in the leadership of our Legion. In order to be elected, you need to be a member in good standing. You should have one year on the Executive at this or a previous Legion to be eligible to run as President, or Vice-President. There is no requirement to be an ordinary member to hold a position on the executive, you can be an associate or affiliate-voting member.
